A few intrepid farmers greeted hungry shoppers in Dupont Circle this morning. I spotted crabcakes, pasta, meat, eggs, potatoes, cabbages, Brussels sprouts, radishes, chard, collard greens, onions, and lots more.
And there was arugula! Tree and Leaf Farm drove up from Waterford, Virginia. It took them double the travel time, but they got to Dupont safe. Thank goodness because there was no arugula at the Safeway.
EcoFriendly Foods made sure I had my eggs for the week, a key ingredient for holiday baking.
I wasn't sure which veggies to buy. I guess this week is as good as any to learn how to cook collard greens.
I'm not sure what I'll make, but I have bacon and white beans in my fridge. That should do it.
