A few weekends ago, Josie and I spent the night with her aunties in Baltimore. On Saturday, we had lunch at Artifact, Woodberry Kitchen's new coffee and sandwich shop and and then we shopped around our of my favorite stores in Hampden. On Sunday, we woke up and decided to take a 90 minute drive to Terrain, a stunning home and garden shop just outside Philadelphia.
I have spent some serious hours pinning some of Terrain's xmas cheer and thought, yes, it's time. We need to go. So we did. I bought some napkins, a few weck jars, some fancy salt, and these notebooks.
It's a gorgeous store, tucked in a little strip mall, an odd juxtaposition, but oooh, once you get past those gates...it's like I died and went to succulent heaven.
At the cafe, we lunched on scallops over farro salad, and pumpkin soup. Josie thought the soup was tasty. Aunty Denise had a fancy caramel coffee, plus steak and eggs. Aunty Noel had pumpkin soup too. Oh, let me tell you about the popover bread: it's baked in a clay plant pot and served with maple butter.
We spent three hours there, eating at the cafe, shopping around, sitting by the fire outside. It's worth a trip, even if it takes you a few hours to get there.
