Here are some photos from the recent food blogger happy hour. Thanks to the Black Squirrel for welcoming us to their new second floor space, which was absolutely fabulous (I heart your calamari). Stay tuned for more info about the next food blogger happy hour on December 2nd. Meanwhile, visit the URLs of the bloggers featured in these photos.
The next dc food blogger happy hour is November 4th at the Black Squirrel, one of my favorite bars in Adams Morgan. The Black Squirrel has a killer beer list and tasty bar food. The crispy calamari is a personal favorite.
Come and meet fellow food bloggers (we'll be on the second floor). Please RSVP in the comments and help get the word out by posting the photo above.
Not sure what this is all about? Check out photos from our last rendezvous at CommonWealth and Poste.
Macheesmo is making snicker doodles. Modern Domestic is making whoopi pies. Adventures in Shaw, the mastermind behind the bake sale, is making heath bar cookies and some other goodies. Thrifty DC Cooks is making rice crispy treats and caramel apples. State Dinner is making chocolate chip pumpkin bread. And there are more food bloggers that I have yet to mention --stay tuned for more updates coming via Twitter.
Yup, those are hard boiled eggs, encased in meat, battered, deep fried, and served with tasty dipping sauces. Scotch eggs are what they are called, and I shared a few with some fellow bloggers at the DC food blogger happy hour last night atCommonWealth Gastro Pub in Columbia Heights.
If you haven't already, please drop an RSVP in the comments, so we'll know how many people are coming.
Yes, the rumors are true: there's another food blogger happy hour planned. It looks like we'll be doing this on a regular basis (First Wednesdays!). The next happy hour will be October 7th at CommonWealth, "the people's pub" in Columbia Heights. In case you missed it, the last food blogger happy hour was tons of fun. Food bloggers mingled, talked shop, ate truffle fries, and put faces to URLs. In October, we'll drink beer, raise our glasses, be merry, and eat Scotch eggs like movie popcorn.
I often find myself talking about food topics, like walnut oil or the new chef at restaurant so and so. As I’m talking, I see people’s eyes start to glaze over. Seriously? You don’t think walnut oil is interesting? I do. That’s why I’m looking forward to the upcoming DC Food Blogger Happy Hour. It was Gradually Greener’s idea, and I was all… “yes please.” Modern Domestic will be there too. When I tweeted the happy hour idea Capital Spice was, “we’re in,” and Beets and Bonbons was “just let me know when and where.”
The when is September 2nd (6pm) and the where is Poste Brasserie. All we need is YOU. Yes, we’re calling all food bloggers (and friends of food). Please come. The more the merrier, so post this info on your blog and get the word out. Also, let me know if you are coming so we have an approximate head count.
