On a my first visit I tried the chorizo taco, pork taco, and fish taco. All of the tacos were served on soft corn tortillas "two-ply" style. The chorizo taco, which came topped with onions and cilantro, stood out among the three. Take note: vegetarians could be happy at Taqueria Nacional, as my friend Jen, who is not a vegetarian, spoke very highly of the bean taco.
Even better was the fried yucca. These light, carb-y pillows served with creamy dipping sauce incited moans from me and Jen. They were seriously delicious, easily out performing even the best french fry. The guacamole at Nacional was so-so; not so bad, as it could be saved with a quick shake of salt, but certainly not worth the $3.95 price tag.
These photos do not do the food justice. They were taken with my iphone at Jen's insistence: "What are you waiting for Bloggy? Take some pictures of this food. It's so good, spread the word, tell the people." So you can thank Jen for this update. She was so happy at Taqueria Nacional I realized I was in the company of a kindred food spirit.
{p.s., Taqueria Nacional has eight seats outside, but that's it. So be prepared to take your food to the park.}
