I heard a rumor that the Safeway at K and 5th has a nut butter bar where you can make nut butter according to your specifications with any type of nut you want. Any type of nut? Yup.
What about Macademia? Yup. Cashew? Yup. Almond? Yup. Despite being extremely loyal to Skippy chunky, I was smitten with the idea of making my own peanut butter (or, rather, telling someone to make peanut butter for me).
So I headed over to Safeway, only to find that the nut butter bar closes at 8:00 pm. That left me pressing my face up against this peanut jar, thinking about what could have been.
I suppose I could have bought one of these, but that just didn't seem right.
