After visiting a friend for breakfast on the Hill this weekend, I decided to check out the H Street Farmers Market. I filled my bags with heirloom tomatoes, peaches, kalamata olive bread, feta cheese, and a big slab of blueberry pie. Oh my.
Here are five reasons you should check out the farmers market on H Street.
1. Delicious heirloom tomatoes. I found Purple Cherokee, Green Zebra, Brandywine, and Mr. Stripey.
2. Dangerously Delicious Pies sell their buttery, fruity desserts and savory pies at the market. You won't find these at Dupont!
3. Awesome music to shop by.
4. I can find my favorite vendors from Dupont's Sunday market here on Saturday, including Atwaters Bakery and Keswick Creamery.
5. Less crowds! (Congress is out of session and every one with half a brain is at the beach).
