Food Blogger Happy Hour: January 5 @ Lyon Hall

JC Lyon Hall Bar

I'm giving up alcohol for the month of January.  {Audible gasp}.  I know, right?  Come keep me company at the food blogger happy hour.  I'll be the one with cranberry and soda, listening to everything you say.

Thanks to Modern Domestic and Little Lady Cook for hosting this month's happy hour.  They picked a great location.  Lyon Hall's menu looks tasty.

RSVP here, please.

Shhh....don't tell anyone, but arugula files can't resist a good meatball sandwich.  That's why I'm looking forward to the next food blogger happy hour at Casa Nonna, DC's newest red sauce joint in Dupont Circle.  Join us on December 1 at 6:00 pm for a few drinks.  RSVP here.

Thanks to Thrifty DC Cook and Biscuits and Such for hosting this month.

p.s., We don't all know each other.  Stroll up in that joint and make some conversation.

Northside Social + The Runcible Spoon Zine

IMG_8592

Before the food blogger happy hour on Wednesday night, I had never been to Northside Social, Clarendon's hippest coffee and wine bar.  Northside Social has all the makings of a great coffeehouse:  people watching, delicious nibbles, board games, wine, craft beer, comfortable seats, and a great space.  It's near the metro too, so cross the river already.  We  did a cookbook swap and I got my salty hands on this roasted chicken.  (Thanks to Capital Spice for c0-hosting the meet and stirring up the idea of a cookbook swap).

Food Blogger Happy Hour: September 1 @ Poste

September Happy Hour

Get.  Out.  It's been a year since the first food blogger happy hour?  Yes, it's true  Every month, on the first Wednesday, food bloggers come together for beer and buffalo wings (or wine and wagyu skewers).  It started big and is still going strong.  For our anniversary, we are headed back to Poste for truffle fries on the patio. If you plan to join us, please RSVP on the DC Food Bloggers Facebook page.

DC State Fair (First Ever!)

IMG_5099
My blogger friends, gradually greener, modern domestic, and the indoor garden(er) are doing something extraordinary.  Something that's never been done before.  They are planning the first, ever, DC State Fair!

The fair will be a part of Columbia Heights Day on August 28th.  Check out the contests and enter your wares (vegetables, photos, home brew, pickles, jams and more).  See you at the fair!

Food Blogger Happy Hour: July 7 @ the Passenger

P

Unfortunately, I missed the last food blogger happy hour.  What a drag.  But I'm not going to miss the next one.  I haven't yet been to the Passenger, but I've heard the buzz, and it's on my list of bars to frequent.  Whether you are a food lover or a food blogger, come out and meet someone who enjoys talking about last night's dinner as much as you do.

DC Thrifty Cook is the “hostess with the mostess” this month, so make sure to say hello to Sylvie when you arrive.  She's one of the coolest, nicest bloggers I've met in DC .  RSVP on the food blogger facebook site and don't forget to become a fan.

See you there.
